General information for deaf refugees
Sign language support team at the station
The sign language support team is mostly at the station in the afternoons.
If you need support from the sign language team lookout for the signs with a crossed-out ear on a blue background and the icon showing signing hands. (Photo over this text)

What to do while waiting for someone to support with sign language?
Coming soon ... we’ll add a video that you can show to refugees, telling them, that you are requesting a translator and they should wait/be patient.

Basically, the procedure and distribution of sign language refugees are the same as that of spoken language refugees. But here is a quick overview of what the group does differently from the other groups
- You will coordinate your shifts with the sign language support team.
- The sign language support team is also in contact with other deaf helping troops in other states to see where there is room.
- There are various special topics regarding this group of people (like special housing for deaf people in Berlin). The sign language support team is up to date with all information regarding this topic. Make sure you are always updated on the current situation and in sync with them.
