Dear Psychologists, Psychotherapists, and Crisis Intervention Professionals,
Until the Senate can establish a long-term solution for psychological support of the arriving refugees and the volunteers helping at the arrival points Hbf and ZOB, the people at Hbf and ZOB depend on your quick help. Thus, we want to organize all trained therapists* who can provide voluntary help RIGHT NOW.
The Stadtmission is the contact and organizer on site and can also provide you with a room for crisis talks.
What to expect:
From the experience of the last week, some injured or traumatized refugees who need support as well as volunteers who need support in processing impressions (medical emergencies at the arrival points, overwork, etc) are waiting for you and your support.
Translations
We are working on establishing a stable network with translators in case the psychotherapists on site can't provide the languages needed. Until this is established, please reach out to local coordinators (orange vests) to help you quickly find translators on site!
📝 Register
1. Send as pdf or jpg of your passport and a proof of your qualification to pfa-ukraine@posteo.de (diploma or master degree in psychology or certificate of crisis counselling or similar) 2. Register at https://volunteer-planner.org/helpdesk/ Important: Use your full name! No nicknames! 3. After that you get access for the platform and you can write your availability in the shift schedule 4. Ask for a membership for the shift schedule --> only I (Saskia) can give you the access (because of this, use no nicknames, only persons who send me their proof of qualification and passport will get an access) 5. Everyone who send me the proof of qualification and passport comes on a list, which we give to the Volunteer Registration container of Berliner Stadtmission (if you don´t agree to this, please send an email to pfa-ukraine@posteo.de and I will delete you from the volunteer list) 6. Everyone who has a shift and is on the list!!! can pick up a purple vest at the Volunteer Registration Container of Berliner Stadtmission (it is behind the welcome tent). They have the volunteer list. Show your passport and say that you want a purple vest. The people at the registration container will check our list and if you are on it, you are allowed to get a purple vest. 7. At your first shift you also have to registrate as volunteer for Stadtmission. But it is only at the first time you come. This has the advantage that you are assured over Stadtmission!!! The people at registration container will do this with you. 8. After your shift you bring the vest back!!! ( That is really important, because at the moment there will be only 5 vests for the volunteers!!)
